I started reading through 1 & 2 Samuel again, was surprised by how well-connected so many of the biblical characters I had heard of were - for example, Solomon being the son of David and Bathsheba.
This website was my attempt at consolidating all the stories I read into a more coherent big picture view (ie where do Abigail and Nabal come in? which of Amnon/Absalom/Adonijab are which?). I would love to expand this out in the future (perhaps as I work through other OT books). I’d ideally want to design a simple reusable interface that recursively zooms in/out - for example, recenter the tree around Solomon and his children without overwhelming the user, or reorient around the relations with Joab in an intuitive format.
Most of this was written in vanilla JS using GPT 5.6 Sol, and iterated on over a few sessions. Since biblical text is a relatively small and unchanging corpus, I took a copy I had and just searched through it with GPT 5.6 Sol to hard code the biblical references. Everything is linked to the Bible Gateway source.
